Privacy Policy

This policy explains how The Footery collects and uses personal information when you contact us or book a home visit. It applies to this website and to enquiries made by telephone, email or WhatsApp.

Last updated: 4 November 2026

1. Who is responsible for your information

The Footery is a mobile foot health service operated by a Foot Health Practitioner, providing foot care home visits across East London and Essex. The Footery is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

2. Website contact-form enquiries

If you complete an enquiry form on this website, we receive the details you enter — typically your name, telephone number, email address, postcode or area, and your message. We use this information only to respond to your enquiry and to arrange an appointment if you wish to book one. These details are sent to The Footery by email and are not stored on a customer database on this website.

3. Email communications

Emails you send to us, and our replies, are held in our email mailbox for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any appointment that follows. We do not use email addresses for marketing unless you have asked us to, and we do not sell or rent contact details to anyone.

4. Telephone communications

If you call or text the landline or WhatsApp number, we may keep a record of your name, number and the nature of your enquiry so that we can follow up, confirm appointments or contact you about a visit. Call records held by your network provider are outside our control.

5. WhatsApp communications

Our WhatsApp number is provided for enquiries and appointment messages. Messages are delivered through WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta Platforms and has its own privacy terms. Please avoid sending detailed medical information by WhatsApp; a brief message is enough and we can discuss anything sensitive during your appointment.

6. Online booking through Cliniko

Appointments are booked through Cliniko, a practice-management system used by The Footery. When you book, Cliniko collects the details needed to create and manage your appointment — such as your name, contact details, date of birth and the service requested — together with any clinical notes recorded during your treatment.

Cliniko acts as our data processor and stores this information on our behalf. The Cliniko booking page is an external website with its own privacy policy, which we recommend reading before you book. Clinical records may be retained for the period required by professional practice and insurance requirements.

7. Cookies

This website uses only essential cookies and similar technologies needed for the site to load and function correctly. We do not use advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking cookies. Embedded services such as the Cliniko booking widget and Google Maps may set their own cookies once you interact with them.

8. Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics (Google Analytics 4) to understand how visitors use the site — for example which pages are viewed and how people find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as an approximate location, device and browser type, and pages visited. This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. You can prevent analytics cookies from being set by adjusting your browser settings or by using Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

9. Why we are allowed to use your information

  • Enquiries: to take steps at your request before entering into an appointment arrangement.
  • Treatment records: to provide safe foot care, which includes health information necessary for your treatment.
  • Legal obligations: to keep records as required by law and professional standards.
  • Analytics: based on our legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used.

10. Sharing and retention

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the practice — Cliniko for bookings and records, our email provider, WhatsApp, Google Analytics and our website hosting provider. We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and clinical records for as long as required by law and professional practice.

11. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, and in some circumstances to have information erased or to object to how it is used. To make a request, please contact us on 020 8058 2170 or email thefootery@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the way we handle information changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last reviewed.
